I was pleased to hear in January that I had been offered a place in the Metalwork Demonstrators Marquee at ‘Art in Action’ www.artinaction.org.uk this was great news as this is a lovely show to do and it is great to have the opportunity to show my work and demonstrate pewter techniques. Also on the show front I have been selected for Brighton Made12, www.brighton-made.co.uk this was also good news as the standard of work shown is very high, so a great one to be included in.
In February I received a letter to confirm that my entry for the Pewter Live competition had been selected to go through to the final with the winner being announced at Pewter Live 2012 in June. www.pewterers.org.uk
The brief was to design a souvenir in pewter for a public attraction e.g. Museum, Stately Home, having shown in Standen for the last 3 years I decided to design something for the here. I designed and made some coasters based on the William Morris ‘Poppy’ wallpaper which is on the wall of one of the bedrooms. So fingers crossed!
On a different note I have now set up a twitter account @fleurgrenier https://twitter.com/#!/fleurgrenier has to be said taking a while to fully understand but am getting there! I am also still regularly updating my facebook page with images of work as it is being made, shows etc. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Fleur-Grenier-Pewterware/114285671915331
