Great news to get such recognition, here is the email I received, ‘

Hello Fleur                                                                                                                   We’re delighted to tell you that you have won our craft&design Selected Maker Silver Award 2016: Wood & Metal

Congratulations! Here’s the Judge’s statement:

“Fleur’s career has spanned twenty years and over that time she has carved a reputation as one of the country’s prolific pewtersmiths winning numerous awards. Her pewter work is diverse and includes ranges for the giftware market as well as client based commissions, designs range from one-off sculptural pieces, tableware such as cheese knives, serviette rings, desk clocks and vases. More recently she has developed her practice, exploring combining pewter with blown glass forms; inspired by molten lava, her pieces celebrate movement and fluidity and show an exciting new strand to her practice. Fleur’s skill is in taking processes steeped in tradition from both disciplines; casting pewter, blowing glass, and through her design skill transform the materials into objects that are distinctly contemporary, her commission for the Carey Baptist Church, Northampton particularly illustrates this.” Delyth Done, April 2016.
