2011 Update

I hit the ground running at the start of the year, November and December had been busy with all the shows. It was exciting to get back into the workshop in January to start designing my range of sculptures for ‘The More Than Floral’ Exhibition which was being held at the Bilston Craft Gallery in Wolverhampton, April – June.

I designed and made 4 pieces developed from games you associated with Nature as a child these where: Find The Four Leaf Clover, Sixer, Do You Like Butter & Falling Helicopters. This was a great opportunity to work on a larger scale and explore new techniques, processes and ideas.

2011-2 2011-1

Commissions included two pewter and walnut boxes to be given as gifts to hold graduation certificates, asked to make 10 more commemorative bowls for the RFU (Rugby Football Union) & a trophy for a local school. This was all separate to creating a new range of work based on drawings of the Dusky Grouper fish.

Shows where busier than ever which was great considering the  economic climate and the Christmas period was my best so far.

So all in all a good 2011!
