July Update – Shows & Commissions

Started July with a holiday, now all refreshed and back in workshop. Next show not until 6th August  so chance to catch up with stock and work on commissions, I designs have all been approved for a design for a communion set by a customer for the Carey Baptist Church in Moulton, Northants.  This was a lovely one to get and am really enjoying making it will post pics soon.

Show wise I am off to Michelham Priory from 6th – 10th August with the Sussex Guild, this is a great 4 day show and the Priory is set in beautiful grounds. There will also be over 40 makers at the show with demonstrations, so it really is a great day out.  If anyone would like to go I do have some tickets that gets 2 people into the show, thats a saving of £8.40 per person.

Finally thought you may want to see a few picture of a recent wedding present commission for a set of coaster, the customer wanted a stag with mountains in the background. The wedding has now happened so can post pictures and the customer was very happy.

Also this month I finished a commission for a sheep dog whistle handle, unusual commission but very interesting to do.  These whistles are now available to buy at

Are a family business that has been designing and making our own sheepdog whistles in the UK for decades.

The designs have been perfected by us to help our working dogs hear commands at a distance, often out of sight, putting the dogs at ease and helping them get on with the task in hand. Harford Logan is a seven-time national sheepdog champion (six times for Ireland and once for Scotland from his time farming the mountainous Ben Vair in the Western Highlands of Scotland) and so his designs were also perfected to give him an edge at sheepdog trials.
